The first leaked image of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 design is out. It looks similar to the Z Fold 7. However, it appears to be slightly thicker. This report comes from 'Android Headlines', a tech news site.
The leaks, published Tuesday, show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 measures 158.4 x 72.8 x 9 mm when folded. When open, it measures 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5 mm.
This means a slight increase of 0.1 mm in thickness when closed. It is a 0.3 mm increase when using the larger screen.
These numbers show the height and width of the Fold 8 will not change from the current model. Samsung might be making a wider foldable phone for those wanting a new design.
The reason for the increase in thickness for the Z Fold 8 seems to be a 5,000 mAh battery. This would be the first for Samsung foldable phones.
This is a big jump from the current model's 4,400 mAh battery. That battery size has been used since the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in 2021.
This increase in capacity has been long awaited. It should help solve a major issue with the Z Fold series.
