iPhone Foldable Leaks: Near-Final Design & Exclusive iOS Feature

John Prosser, a leaker facing legal action from Apple, has shared a new YouTube video. He shows what he claims is the final design for Apple's first foldable iPhone. The video reveals different models than before. Prosser also points to iOS 27 code to support his claims. This includes support for a foldable iPhone and a new feature users have wanted for years.

The models show a book-style foldable phone. Prosser calls it a "thick iPhone" when closed. When open, it is like an "iPad." This is not new information. The phone may be only 4.5mm thick when open. This is thinner than the iPhone Air's 5.6mm thickness. This report comes from Digital Trends.

The titanium frame has what Prosser calls an "over-engineered hinge." This hinge is designed to create a nearly wrinkle-free screen. Reports say Apple has worked on this technology for a long time. However, they faced some problems.

Prosser's video shows the foldable iPhone might come in two colors: white and dark gray. Most of these details are not new. They have appeared in other reports before. The phone is widely expected to be named "iPhone Ultra."

Different Details

Prosser's YouTube channel, "Front Page Tech," also shared a similar video in December 2025. Back then, the leaker called the foldable phone "iPhone Fold." Now, the name is "iPhone Ultra." Comparing the two videos shows some clear changes.

The older video showed the power button with Touch ID. It was above the camera bar on the top of the phone. The new models show the volume buttons in this spot. There is also a speaker slot in the top bezel.

The power button is now on the right edge. This is normal for iPhones. But on the foldable, it is in the lower half. This button design is not like the usual iPad buttons. It might take some getting used to.

The most notable change is the new, sleeker camera bump. Instead of covering the whole back panel width, it only surrounds the dual rear camera. This makes the sensors sit above a flat surface. It gives the device a more unified look.

What About the New iOS Feature?

Prosser claims the iPhone Ultra will bring split-screen multitasking to iOS. But it will be exclusive to the foldable phone. This means current iPhones will not get this feature. Even though they support iOS 27.

Apple seems to be preparing for this in the iOS 27 code. Phrases like "fold state" and "angle degrees" appear in the developer beta. These suggest support for foldable screens.

After WWDC 2026, Apple also asked developers to prepare for dynamic screen sizes and aspect ratios. If Prosser is correct, the foldable iPhone will be the first iPhone to properly support running two apps side-by-side.
