Samsung has released a new update for the Samsung Device Care app. This update brings a feature that many Galaxy phone users will find very useful. The system can now find apps sending too many annoying ad notifications and stop them automatically.
The new update is version 13.8.80.7 of the Device Care app. This app is built into Samsung Galaxy phones, tablets, and computers. It helps manage device performance, improve battery life, memory, and security.
The new feature is called "Excessive Ad Blocking." It finds outside apps that send users too many unwanted ad alerts. This report comes from the website "phonearena" and was seen by "Al-Arabiya Business."
When you turn this feature on, the system puts these apps in a deep sleep mode. This stops them from sending more annoying notifications in the background.
You can find this feature in: Settings > Device Care > Care Report > Excessive Alerts.
Samsung offers two ways to block these annoying apps:
- The "Basic" mode uses Samsung's own data. It finds apps known for sending too many ads.
- The "Intelligent" mode analyzes the notification content. It decides if the alerts are ads. Then it blocks apps that send too many.
This feature is not a complete ad blocker. But it helps reduce common annoyances on smartphones. It is especially helpful for free apps that rely heavily on promotional notifications.
The Device Care app also keeps offering other performance features. These include cleaning RAM by stopping background apps. There is also a "Virtual Memory" feature. It turns part of your storage space into extra RAM, up to 8 GB.
Reports say this new app version started appearing on Samsung Galaxy S26 phones months ago. It is now available in the Galaxy Store for devices with the stable One UI 8.5 update.
Devices getting the update include:
- Galaxy S26.
- Galaxy S25.
- Galaxy S24.
- Galaxy Z Fold 7.
- Galaxy Z Flip 7.
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
- Galaxy Z TriFold.
- Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
This move shows Samsung's focus on improving daily user experience. Users have complained more about apps using annoying ad notifications. These apps try to get attention and increase interaction.
