The X platform has launched a new feature called "History." This new tab aims to gather all saved and liked content in one place. It shows X is working to improve long content and user experience.
This new feature is now available for iPhone users. X has not said when it will come to Android devices. A report from "digitaltrends" shared this news. "Arabia Business" also saw the report.
One Place for All Your Saved Content
Before this, users found it hard to find content they saved. Content was spread out in the app.
Saved posts were in Bookmarks. Likes were in the profile. Long videos and articles were in different spots.
The new "History" tab brings together:
Saved posts.
Long videos.
Articles.
Likes.
This is all in one simple view. It makes it easy to find content later. You don't need to search your account or timeline.
Why Did X Launch This Feature?
Nikita Bier, head of product at X, said that posts move fast on the platform. It is hard to find long content or finish it later.
The History tab gives:
Articles.
Long videos.
Extended content.
A more stable space in the app. Content will not disappear quickly in daily posts.
Part of the 'Everything App' Plan
This move is part of X's plan to become an "Everything App." The platform recently added support for long articles. It also supports high-quality videos. X is targeting content creators.
This helps X compete with platforms like "YouTube." It also competes with other long-form content apps. Making it easier to find content is key to this strategy.
But there is a funny issue. The new feature does not sort important content from other content.
It shows articles and videos you saved. It also shows posts you liked. It might even show embarrassing posts you liked late at night.
This means the History tab could become a full archive of your platform habits.
